"Henri Bosco was the complete opposite of Giono, more reserved, mysterious but also with an endearing personality. Every summer for three years, I visited him and his wife Madeleine in Lourmarin with great pleasure. The beautiful text I had to illustrate gave me the opportunity to depict the wild beauty of the Luberon Mountains, the banks of the river Durance. At that time, Bosco, was having a bastidon (stone cottage) built. A never ending project.
