"I had accepted the publisher's offer to illustrate the beautiful book of this writer and poet. I chose to use drypoint, ideal technique to retranscribe all the subtlety and softness of flowers, fruits and plants. The great Jean-Gabriel Daragnès was in charge of executing a colour frontispiece and printing my work. I remember the numerous visits I made to his studio located on Avenue Junot.
He was very proud of his hives which produced a delicious honey from the lime trees in blossom on the hill, relics of the old times scrubland..."
